Andrew P. Blaber, PhD

Andrew grew up in northern Ontario and Quebec where he spent much of his youth exploring the wilds and prospecting. Andrew received his doctorate in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in 1994, following a stint as a high school physics teacher. He also has a master’s degree in Biophysics and a bachelor’s degree in marine biology from the University of Guelph. He is a Professor and Founder and Director of the Aerospace Physiology Laboratory at Simon Fraser University. Dr. Blaber routinely works with Canadian, European and American space agencies. He lives in Port Moody, British Columbia with his lovely wife of 31 years and has five wonderful children. He has written over seventy scientific and technical publications.

Dr. Blaber takes his science travelling road show to area schools and community centres as part of his outreach program to promote science literacy. His former students have given him the name Dr. Blaber the Science Neighbour.

Andrew is also an avid reader of fiction of all genre, but SciFi is his favourite. He has completed a manuscript for the novel, Fallow, which is the first in the Fallow Earth Series.
